Joanna is the lead trainer and founder of Immunisation Education. Originally working in Emergency Medicine, Joanna developed an interest in preventing communicable diseases, while caring for several patients with malaria. In 2002, she completed a Diploma in Tropical Nursing from The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Joanna is an experienced Travel Health & Immunisation Specialist Nurse, working in travel clinics in New Zealand and London, before founding a specialist vaccination clinic which she managed until 2016. Jo has worked in GP surgeries, public health, sexual health, occupational health, an independent school and as a TB specialist nurse, which has given her a wide experience in immunisation provision. Joanna’s current clinical role is as a Specialist Nurse for an international healthcare provider.

Having previously been an Associate Trainer for the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC), Joanna enjoys implementing evidence based practice into care. Jo is passionate about health education and particularly supporting nurses who are new to immunisation.
